FAQ AND POLICIES

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY BODYWORK SESSION?

I believe that presence and body awareness are critical to the efficacy of any bodywork treatment. In fact, one of the greatest gifts of massage is in fostering these qualities for my clients. To allow your body to leverage it's internal resources, be sure to assist by staying nourished, hydrated, and rested. While you have no obligations in preparing for a session, it is also my belief that you will receive the greatest benefits from following some of these suggestions:

*Arrive bathed, and use the restroom prior to being on the table

*Do not overeat before your session

*Avoid using any painkillers, drugs or consuming alcohol prior to your session

*Yoga, stretching, meditation, exercise, or any mindfulness practice before your session greatly increases your potential rewards from bodywork, especially when receiving Craniosacral Therapy.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL?

Cancellation Policy
I understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. In our desire to be effective and fair to all clients and the practitioner, the following policies are honored:

24 hour advance notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give 24 hours of advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.

No-shows
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show.” They will be charged for their “missed” appointment.

Late Arrivals
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, I will have to determine if there is enough time remaining to start a service. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other clients, please plan accordingly and be on time.

WILL I BE UNDRESSED?

Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, it is entirely up to you what you want to wear. You can and should undress to your level of comfort. You may find that wearing just underwear allows for a nice balance of modesty and opportunity to receive a full range of hip work and stretches. You will be properly draped during the entire session.  I recommend wearing loose, flexible, comfortable clothing, free of jewelry or belts while receiving either Shiatsu or Craniosacral Therapy.

WHERE DO I PARK?

Please arrive with ample time to park and locate the treatment space. There is 2-hour metered parking surrounding the new office, and 2-hour street parking on Clifton. SpotAngels is a useful resource, which provides parking maps indicating local parking options, availability, and pricing.

WILL YOU BE TRAINING ME AT YOUR GYM?

During your initial training session, you will be asked to sign forms, discuss intake topics, and participate in postural and movement assessments. If training together is a good fit for you, we will discuss the appropriate venue to continue your sessions. Corrective exercise training sessions are conducted in the office, with all follow-up exercises from your program performed at home.

WILL I BE CHARGED WHEN I BOOK?

No charges are made during booking. Schedulista's online scheduling software securely captures a credit card to guarantee an appointment slot. Charges will only be made in person after your appointment, or in the event of a "no-show". You can choose to use the credit card that you booked with, provide a different card, use cash, Venmo, or redeem a package credit(s). Personal checks not accepted.
